About me:

I love my work supporting people in creating the life they want. I utilize an integrative model of therapy that’s primarily composed of attachment-based therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness techniques and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I am also certified in Family Based Therapy (FBT).

These modalities are indicated to be the most effective with the clinical areas I treat. I have an extensive background in helping patients work through eating disorders, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, suicidality, self-harm and complex trauma. I have worked intensely with a variety of populations and treatment programs ranging from a private practice setting, residential program, partial hospitalization program, and intensive outpatient programs, in-patient psychiatric unit and schools. I also have experience assessing the appropriate treatment needed for an individual requiring a higher level of care as well as supporting an individual to reintegrate back into his/her community after graduating from a treatment program.

How I work:

I use a direct, strength-based, and pragmatic approach honed by my wide range of experience- it’s very important to me that therapy provides results and feels useful. I push my clients to grow and progress while still providing them with someone to trust with their thoughts and feelings. Our sessions will be a combination of emotional processing and skills building. Throughout it all, I am  always on your team.

Generally when a potential client reaches out to me we set up a free consultation call. During that call we’ll touch on what you’re looking for in therapy and I can provide more information about my skills and approach so we can get a sense of if we’re a good match. If it seems like an appropriate fit we’ll schedule a time for you to come in for an individual session. I generally meet with my clients weekly and the length of therapy is dependent on the client’s presenting issue and goals for therapy.
